Série 2 — formes indéterminées, encadrements et limites trigonométriques.

Exercice 1

Calculer \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to+\infty}\frac{\sqrt{x^2+1}}{x}\) puis \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to-\infty}\frac{\sqrt{x^2+1}}{x}\).

Correction

En \(+\infty\) : \(\sqrt{x^2+1} = x\sqrt{1 + \frac1{x^2}}\), donc la limite vaut \(1\). En \(-\infty\) : \(\sqrt{x^2+1} = -x\sqrt{1 + \frac1{x^2}}\) (car \(\sqrt{x^2} = \lvert x\rvert = -x\)), donc la limite vaut \(-1\).

Exercice 2

Calculer \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to1}\frac{\sqrt x - 1}{x - 1}\).

Correction

On multiplie par le conjugué : \(\dfrac{x-1}{(x-1)(\sqrt x + 1)} = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt x + 1} \to \dfrac12\).

Exercice 3

Calculer \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0}\frac{1 - \cos x}{x^2}\) et \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0}\frac{\tan x - \sin x}{x^3}\).

Correction

La première limite vaut \(\dfrac12\) (limite de référence). Pour la seconde : \(\tan x - \sin x = \sin x\left(\dfrac{1}{\cos x} - 1\right) = \dfrac{\sin x(1 - \cos x)}{\cos x}\). Donc \(\dfrac{\sin x}{x}\times\dfrac{1-\cos x}{x^2}\times\dfrac{1}{\cos x} \to 1\times\dfrac12\times1 = \dfrac12\).

Exercice 4

Exercice 5

Calculer \(\displaystyle\lim_{x\to+\infty}\left(\sqrt{x^2+3x} - \sqrt{x^2+x}\right)\).

Correction

On multiplie par le conjugué : \(\dfrac{2x}{\sqrt{x^2+3x} + \sqrt{x^2+x}}\). En factorisant par \(x\) au dénominateur, la limite vaut \(\dfrac{2}{1+1} = 1\).

Exercice 6

Soit \(f(x) = \dfrac{x^3 - 1}{x^2 - 1}\). Calculer la limite en \(1\).

Correction

\(\dfrac{(x-1)(x^2+x+1)}{(x-1)(x+1)} = \dfrac{x^2+x+1}{x+1} \to \dfrac32\).

Exercice 7

Soit \(f(x) = \dfrac{2x^2 + x - 1}{x + 2}\). Déterminer son asymptote oblique en \(+\infty\).

Correction

La division donne \(f(x) = 2x - 3 + \dfrac{5}{x+2}\). Comme \(\dfrac{5}{x+2} \to 0\), la droite \(y = 2x - 3\) est asymptote oblique.
