Exercice 1
Déterminer l'ensemble de définition :
- \(f(x) = \frac{2x + 1}{x^2 - 4}\)
- \(g(x) = \sqrt{3 - x}\)
- \(h(x) = \frac{1}{\sqrt{x + 1}}\)
Correction
- \(x^2 - 4 \neq 0\) : \(D_f = \mathbb{R}\setminus\{-2 ; 2\}\).
- \(3 - x \ge 0\) : \(D_g = ]-\infty ; 3]\).
- \(x + 1 > 0\) : \(D_h = ]-1 ; +\infty[\).
Exercice 2
Étudier la parité de :
- \(f(x) = x^4 - 3x^2 + 1\)
- \(g(x) = x^3 - x\)
- \(h(x) = x^2 + x\)
Correction
- \(f(-x) = f(x)\) : paire.
- \(g(-x) = -x^3 + x = -g(x)\) : impaire.
- \(h(-1) = 0\) et \(h(1) = 2\) : ni paire ni impaire.
Exercice 3
Soit \(f(x) = x^2 - 4x\). En utilisant le taux de variation, étudier les variations de \(f\) sur \(]-\infty ; 2]\) et \([2 ; +\infty[\).
Correction
\(T = \frac{f(b) - f(a)}{b - a} = \frac{b^2 - a^2 - 4(b - a)}{b - a} = a + b - 4\). Sur \(]-\infty ; 2]\), \(a + b < 4\) donc \(T < 0\) : \(f\) décroissante. Sur \([2 ; +\infty[\), \(a + b > 4\) donc \(T > 0\) : \(f\) croissante.
Exercice 4
Montrer que \(f(x) = \frac{2x}{x^2 + 1}\) admet \(1\) comme maximum sur \(\mathbb{R}\).
Correction
\(1 - f(x) = \frac{x^2 - 2x + 1}{x^2 + 1} = \frac{(x - 1)^2}{x^2 + 1} \ge 0\), donc \(f(x) \le 1\), avec égalité en \(x = 1\).
Exercice 5
Soient \(f(x) = x^2\) et \(g(x) = x + 2\). Étudier la position relative de leurs courbes.
Correction
\(f(x) - g(x) = x^2 - x - 2 = (x+1)(x-2)\). Courbe de \(f\) au-dessus pour \(x \in ]-\infty ; -1[ \cup ]2 ; +\infty[\), en dessous sur \(]-1 ; 2[\), intersection en \(x=-1\) et \(x=2\).
