Problème (20 pts)

Soit \(f(x) = 2x - 1 - 2\ln x\) sur \(]0 ; +\infty[\).

  1. Calculer \(\lim_{x\to0^+}f(x)\) et \(\lim_{x\to+\infty}f(x)\). (4 pts)
  2. Calculer \(f'(x)\) et dresser le tableau de variation de \(f\). (5 pts)
  3. En déduire que \(f(x) > 0\) pour tout \(x > 0\). (3 pts)
  4. Montrer que \(\lim_{x\to+\infty}\frac{f(x)}{x} = 2\) et interpréter. (4 pts)
  5. Une entreprise a un coût moyen \(C_M(q) = f(q)\) (en centaines de DH, \(q\) en milliers). Quelle production minimise ce coût moyen ? (4 pts)
Correction
  1. En \(0^+\) : \(-2\ln x\to+\infty\), donc \(f\to+\infty\). En \(+\infty\) : \(x\left(2 - \frac1x - \frac{2\ln x}{x}\right)\to+\infty\).
  2. \(f'(x) = 2 - \frac2x = \frac{2(x - 1)}{x}\) : décroissante sur \(]0 ; 1]\), croissante sur \([1 ; +\infty[\), minimum \(f(1) = 1\).
  3. Le minimum vaut \(1 > 0\).
  4. \(\frac{f(x)}{x} = 2 - \frac1x - \frac{2\ln x}{x}\to2\), et \(f(x) - 2x = -1 - 2\ln x\to-\infty\) : branche parabolique de direction \(y = 2x\).
  5. \(q = 1\), soit \(1000\) unités, coût moyen minimal \(100\) DH.
